City Crafter ... Extra Extra!!!

Hello there ...

Our lovely hostess Cheryl has chosen the new challenge at City Crafter this morning ... Extra Extra ... given that this is a leap year and February has one extra day ... a day for proposing to your loved one by tradition ...

The challenge is to use 2 or more ribbons on your project and 9 or more words ...
Our lovely Guest Designer this week is Ashley  and if you would like the chance of being our Guest Designer ... well that's the prize up for grabs this week! So why not come and join in the challenge

I am using pretty Eline's Huis papers again ... still looking for Spring in the colour palette

Got more than 9 words in there with this sweet quote

... and my 2 ribbons ...
Not as difficult as you first thought huh?

I'm feeling a bit rough today ... well these past few days actually, so I'm keeping this post short ...
Please take a moment to check out the creations on the CCCB blog and don't forget there is still time to enter the challenge over at Pixie Dust Paperie too ...

Have a beautiful day ...

Till soon

Wedding set

Hello ...
I hope you enjoyed your weekend ... Doesn't the time fly?

One of the lovely girls at the hairdressers I go to is getting married in March ... the girls are all flying off to Las Vegas for the wedding and the bride to be ... Tanya ... is beyond excited ... It's so lovely to hear them all chatting about it ... one can't help being caught up in the fun of it all ...
Everything is so different from when I was that age ... I am fascinated by the hair pieces and fashions they wear which look so very stunning.. and I can't help but wish they would have had these things in my day ... Oh the possibilities! I can guarantee that a visit to this shop brightens your day ... well it does mine

So I've made a card and another little heart for Tanya ... I'm not sure that she even knows what vintage is ... but she will just be thrilled at the thought of it, bless her

I used my Silhouette to cut the frames and the papers are Eline's Huis again

The lovely heart peg is from Stella and I added some liquid pearls as well as ordinary pearls too
The sentiment tag is made using my Sizzix ... I still love my Sizzix

I love how I can use up little trinkets, scraps of tulle, ribbon, lace and organza when making these

I don't have a plan ... I just go where it takes me

I made a tag by printing onto the fabric and then sewing the fabric to a piece of card stock
A closer look ...

You can just see the little pin there too with a heart that reads "Handmade with love"

So that's it for today ... I will be back tomorrow with the new challenge at CCCB which is being hosted by Cheryl ... see you then

Have a lovely day

Anniversary Card

I'm loving the pretty Eline's Huis Winter pastels collection at the moment ... the pretty colours remind me more of spring than winter ... I've done a few cards with this pack which I can share in the next few weeks ... mostly DT projects ... but today I have a card for a friend who is celebrating her wedding anniversary

See how pretty these papers are ... I'm particularly loving the blue
With all the new releases following CHA ... I can't wait until the UK suppliers get their stock ... I'm loving the Prima ranges and of course Melissa Frances ranges ...

I guess I really should use up all the papers I have first ...

On a different note ... do you ever watch a film and it stays with you ... I'm like that with books too ... I plucked up the courage to watch a film the other night called The Last Lions ... you all know I'm a big animal lover ... what I didn't know is that the Lion population has decreased from 450,000  to just 20,000 in the last 50 years ... due to our ever increasing population we are robbing them of their lives and their land ...

This film sees the perilous journey of a lioness ... a mother of 3 cubs and devoted to her mate ... as she fights for survival and to protect her young following an attack of a huge pack of rival lions that saw her mate fatally injured.  It was gut wrenching, brutal, and at times hard to watch ...
Not for the first time I thought just how much we can learn from these beautiful creatures ... their parenting skills ... their love and devotion ... their courage and strength in the face of adversity ... and even the forgiveness she showed to her enemies ... It is a film that will stay with me for a long time to come ....

Thank you for stopping by and for all your sweet comments
Have a lovely weekend

City Crafter "It's All Natural..."

Good Morning!

It's another new challenge at City Crafter today and this week our hostess is sweet Linda Robinson who is asking that we create a project in neutral colours ...

This is the inspirations photo for you

We welcome our Guest Designer this week ... Svetlana from the Ukraine and our generous sponsor Pixie Dust Paperie ...

I love to work in neutrals and I made a card and gift for a sweet friend of mine who really is an Earth Angel ...

... and has a heart of gold ...

A card of neutrals together with a handmade heart ...

Can you see the little wings? I had some chipboard wings from Pixie Dust Paperie which I covered in felt, trimmed around the shape and then glittered

... I stamped a little tag using PTI stamps

... and added a few trinkets

My papers are Prima (Printery range) ... butterfly from Ira ... Pin from Stella... the heart is cut free hand from calico ... lace buttons and ribbons from my supplies ...

I hope you can join us at City Crafter this week ... love to see you there

Till soon keep safe

French inspired Cushion

I'm still playing around with fabric ... cutting out hearts and pillows and discovering the fun of printing on fabric ...
I have a few things to share in the next few days ... today is a little French inspired cushion ... using mostly graphics from the Graphics Fairy and some cotton sheeting that I had in my box of materials

I thought I'd practice on this cotton ... but it worked so well I used it ...
My printer as most printers do ... only takes up to A4 size so I printed four sheets of fabric ... lightly attaching it with spray first to card stock ... then sewing it was easy...
A band of lace hides the join

I've just bought some expensive pre printed fabric ... and could have saved myself some money had I realised that this was going to work so well ...
I've also been reading my new book by Julie Nutting as recommended by Sweet Mona Pendleton ... so I hope to be able to try these techniques soon ... How I love learning new things ...
Right now some DT projects are calling so I have to get on ... I hope you'll stop by for the new CCCB challenge tomorrow and don't forget that you still have time to enter the challenge over at Pixie Dust Paperie

Have a beautiful Day

Jingle Belles ... All Buttoned-Up

I'm so glad that Jingle Belles have extended their challenges to fortnightly ... I would have missed the deadline otherwise ...
This challenge is to use buttons or brads ... and if you are like me you probably have lots of them around ... I am still struggling to get into "Christmas" mode ... I just want the Spring to arrive and hopefully a decent Summer ... I've had enough of the cold... the bare trees, the dull skies ... but yesterday I heard a hopeful sound ... a Woodpecker ... each Spring they arrive and it warms my heart to hear their sound
Right I'm waffling ... on to my card

I made a sort of 'mock' wreath by punching a hole through my DP and putting the sentiment behind and then just gluing buttons on

I also used a button on my ribbon ...
The papers I've had for such a long time .. they're called Smirk.
Lauren and Stef over at Jingle Belles have created some lovely cards if you're looking for inspiration and you still have plenty of time to get your card done.

I've got some assignments to see to now so I hope you all have a lovely weekend ..
Till soon

Pretty Things

Did you have a lovely Valentine's? I hope so
I certainly did ... I got a card and flowers and was whisked away for a drive out ... stopped for coffee and cake and then found a fabulous shop where DH bought me some lovely things ... I'm not one for jewels and such ... but a sweet little piece for my home always delights me ...
A few weeks ago I came across this beautiful french cabinet and it was love at first sight

And it was in the sale .. hubby bought it for me and I checked online and found it selling for 3 times what we paid so I was one happy girlie!
And gracing the top is one of yesterday's buys (not a good photo ... sorry)

she is too heavy for me to lift and put in my light tent! She looks lovely on my cabinet
 Then I saw this ...

which now sits beautifully in my kitchen ... and you know I loooove my plaques so this came home with me too

and how could I leave behind these book boxes ... beautifully made of wood

I adore them ... and finally this called to me too

Not everyone's cup of tea but I love it!

Did I have a good day? You betcha! Because this also arrived from my sweet kind friend Jacira

Such a pretty and delicate piece of work ... and take a peek inside

Beautiful embellished and filled with such lovely trims ...
"Thank You Jacira"

And thank You ... for stopping by and allowing me to share with you ...

Till soon

City Crafter "Perfect Pair"

I hope you have a wonderful day filled with love ......

And as it's Tuesday and that means another challenge at City Crafter hosted this week by our lovely creator Kirsty ...
Kirsty has given us this lovely photo and 2 colours to work with for this challenge

The challenge is to create 2 cards ... of the same design ... the main colour has to be as shown in the circles ... but you can use accent colours from the photo ...
Great challenge don't you think? ... Here's what I came up with

I'm struggling with photos lately so I apologise if they are a bit blurred

Seeing the inspiration photo ... I just had to go with dresses

These were cut on the Silhouette as were the cards ... the papers are from my huge box of scraps and forlorn papers ... some that I've had forever and always keep "just in case" ... in this instance the colours were just perfect! And I'm not sure if you can see ... but I even painted the tulle with matching distress stains.

Our Guest Designer this week is Lilia   a very talented lady who would love you to visit and say "Hi"
and our generous sponsor this week is Crop Stop ... somewhere else you need to visit ... so many fabulous goods for creating just about anything!
Full details of the challenge and the prize can be found on the City Crafter blog ... along with the creations from our DT and our GD to give you inspiration should you need it ...
Every week we are blown away by your talents and inspired by you! Thanks so much to all of you who support us each week and new visitors are always welcome ... so don't be shy ... come and join us

Enjoy your day

Sweet scented pillow ... and Thank you!

Hello...
I have a few people to thank this morning ...

Firstly to my sweet friend Cheryl  for this lovely card and birthday gift that arrived last week

A gorgeous card and lots of beautiful things for me to play with... Thank You Cheryl!

Next is to the lovely Cindy for featuring me on her blog this week! Every week Cindy has a link up ... open to anyone for anything that they would like to share ... it's so lovely to see the talent and beautiful creations ... please hop over and take a look and why not link something up yourself?
Thank You Cindy!

And finally I would like to say Thank  You to LESSology for awarding me a Top 3 for my frame ...
What a lovely week for me.....

Today I have a little scented pillow to share ...

I used an image from one of my favourite places to visit ...The Graphics Fairy
I printed it straight on to the fabric ... I sprayed a piece of cardstock with re-positional spray and adhered the fabric to it first so it would run through my printer and I was so pleased at the result ... I use a Canon printer and found that the best setting for this was to use "plain paper" ... that way the ink doesn't run or smudge ... Here's a closer look

The beautiful vintage button is from the box Lauren sent me
And just in case you are wondering ... the pillow is filled with wadding and dried lavender ... and I sprayed the wadding with scent first as well ...

I wish you all a lovely day and I'll be back tomorrow with my DT project for CCCB ...

Thanks for stopping by

Playing with Prima

Hi there ...
I hope you are well and keeping warm ... My hubby is off to the football match today - rather him than me sitting in the cold!

The sweet girls over at Papercraft Star have a challenge for "Hearts"this week ... ... this is their beautiful inspiration photo

My sweet Aunt is coming to stay in March ... just for a week ... and I want everything to be nice and pretty for her ... so we have decorated a her bedroom and added some new furniture etc., and I made something for one of the walls ... I didn't realise just how difficult it was going to be to photograph so I apologise for the poor quality photos ...

I used some pretty Prima papers for the background and cut out different sized butterflies and a heart using pretty MF paper and just layered them

Really simple I know ... but pretty effective doncha think?

So I'll be linking this up to the challenge ...

And whilst I had these papers to hand I made a little pocket to tuck in some gift vouchers for my SIL who has a birthday next week

So that's it for today ... I hope you have a lovely Sunday ...
Till soon

Handmade vintage ...

Well I'm pleased to be able to report that I finally got the results on my foot ... seems I have stress fractures in two of my toes ... hence the pain and swelling ... and I have been walking with this for 4 months whilst awaiting the correct diagnosis ... worse still I had the foot manipulated by my Chiropractor ... Yes, it was agony! ... So now I have a special shoe and crutches and all I can do is rest ... Think I can cope with that ... I know it will take up to 12 weeks but by hook or by 'crutch' I will go on my planned cruise in April ...

One of the receptionists at the hospital has been so helpful and I wanted to give her a little something ... I had This set still ... and thought it would be perfect together with a handmade pin cushion

I had this lovely material with sewing details on ...

and I just cut the heart shape free hand

The pretty pin is from sweet June ... and I stamped 'handmade vintage style' straight on to a scrap of the material with stamps from PTI

This is the reverse ... I really enjoy making these so you may see some more in the future

I wish you a wonderful day
