Inside

Good morning!

At Our Beautiful World the new prompt for the week has been chosen for us by the lovely Wendy
The word is

"Inside"

What could she mean I thought ... Inside whilst another is outside?

Or perhaps it just means Inside like in your own basket

... Or your own box

Maybe it's Inside my home

Or perhaps Inside the Palm House in Liverpool?

How about Inside a shop full to the brim of knick knacks in Spain?

Oooh! it could be Inside the Rock of Gibraltar

Or the Liverpool Eye...

... even a flower!

What do you think?

Why not share your
"Inside"
Photos with us at Our Beautiful World this week
We'd love to see them

Hugs

Anything Goes

Hello... How are you?
Survive the manic rush of Black Friday?

It's something that has now taken off in the UK and when I heard on the news about the fights ... Ambulances being called etc., I thought it better to stay home!

As I was finishing up the project for my group on Thursday ... my DH came in and told me it was my friend Pat's husband's birthday... I had no idea ... she sure kept that quiet! So I had a quick card to make ...

I keep a little container on my desk that I keep bit's and pieces like die cuts I didn't use and it comes in handy I can tell you... This is how my card evolved

The circle and stars were in that box so I cut some DP using the wavy borders and splattered the whole card with Tim Holtz distress paint in Pewter.. Voila!

I'm linking this up over at
Where there is an "Anything Goes" challenge

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Till soon

Sparkle

Hello and to all my friends over in the USA

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope you have a wonderful day with family and loved ones

I have another shaker card to share today ...

I cut that tree on my Cameo and I'm using my new dies here too

Once again mixing my glitter with sequins ...
The Sparkle (PTI die) I cut from some left over card stock I had stamped for another project

I just love making these ...

I'm linking up over at Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday

Thanks so much for looking in

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Hello there ...

I've another Christmas card to share ... this time a little glitter filled shaker card

The image was stamped and embossed (using black glitter EB powder) onto acetate first - actually it took me a few goes as the acetate tends to slip when being stamped and this little stamp was quite finely detailed so you can't really press too hard

Behind the acetate is a small left over piece of Melissa Frances paper and a glittery moon

The washi tape on the bottom of the card is by Teresa Collins - the sentiment is computer generated and the snow is made using Snow Writer by DecoArt

I need to finish the Thursday Group project today ... I have little Christmas tea light houses for them to make and Pat is preparing Christmas wreaths for them to make too.

Have a lovely day

City Crafter 239

Hello ... Happy Tuesday!

The lovely Charlene is hosting our challenge this week at City Crafter

Does the photo give you any clues as to what this challenge is?
Well, this week the challenge is Techniques

Charlene is asking that we create a card or project using our favourite technique and tell us on your post what technique you used ... Isn't that a fabulous challenge!

There are so many techniques that I love to use but one of my all time favourites is the Inlaid Die Technique which I used on my card

Why I picked this die I'll never know ... I love the die but didn't realised just how many tiny pieces there were to 'fit back' into the spaces

It was worth it in the end ... I love the effect and it always keeps the recipient guessing "how did she do that?" Lol!

Our Guest Designer this week is Ger Janne - winner of week 233 - If you click This link it will take you to the card she made that week and the wonderful technique used - One I've yet to try
I can't wait to see what she comes up with this week and what the rest of the team have in store for us, so I'm off over to the City Crafter Blog - You're welcome to join me

Have a lovely day

Hugs

Wasps and Penguins

Hello!

Well I'm glad the weekend is over ... Boy what a day Saturday was ... It started off ok ... I prepared the roast, did the baking, cleaned the house and did the laundry and spent a few hours with my friend Beryl ... After Beryl left Pat came over to help me hand cut a lot of things for my Thursday Group this week ... I thought we'd have a nice relaxing time chatting and cutting together ... WRONG!

I set up the Cameo to cut some holly leaves for Pat ... The new blade I'd put in just kept on unscrewing itself every time I tried to cut ... It chewed the paper and created havoc ... Several attempts later I gave up and put an old blade in. In the course of this somehow a wasp got in to my room - I know! Who knew they'd still be around in November? Well, I tried unsuccessfully to get it out when the lights fused and there we were in the dark with an angry wasp on the loose.
Eventually I fixed the lights and got the wasp out only to find another one around ... Now all this time Pat carried on cutting away not a bit fazed until suddenly the wasp swooped down on her and stung her arm!
Suffice to say that we didn't eat dinner till 8pm and I was soooo glad to get to bed that night!

Yesterday was a whole lot calmer and I took a little time to make another Christmas card ... It's those Pink Petticoat penguins again with some new purchases the stitched rectangles dies and the stitched stars dies by Lil' Inkers

I also got the little banner die too - all these are available at Make The Day Special Store for my UK friends...

In case your wondering about that 'snow' ... Well, it's not a stencil, it's this stuff

Snow writer by DecoArt which I've had for the longest time and cost me a whole

It's still available and probably about £2.50 now but still worth it

I'm entering this card at Catered Crop where there is an "Anything Goes" challenge

Have a lovely week my friends ...
I'll be back tomorrow for the City Crafter Challenge ...

Thanks for looking in on me

Our Beautiful World

Hello ...
I hope you are enjoying your weekend

Today at Our Beautiful World we have a new prompt ... chosen for us by Manuela
The prompt is Typical November

Well typically here in the UK like the rest of you I suspect, the Christmas season is upon us ... Every shop is heaving with shoppers and decorations are everywhere

... even in the trees and as it get dark here by 5pm it's a pretty sight for the shoppers

Whilst at home the garden is full of colour believe it or not ... I don't mean with flowers, but the with last glow of Autumn leaves against the evergreen Laurel and the pyracantha laden with bright orange berries

... together with the holly displaying her not so abundant berries of red

It's not as cold as most Novembers have been and certainly not as frosty
If I were to describe a Typical November in one photo this would be it for me

What's your Typical November like? We'd love to see
Share it with us at

Have a lovely day

More Balloons

Hello
I hope you are all well ...
For my friends across the pond that are experiencing bad weather please be safe - my thoughts are with you
My SIL flew out to Memphis last Wednesday and will be visiting Atlanta and a few other places this week - she was deciding what clothes to take - I'm sure she'll be ok

Tomorrow is my husband's DIL's birthday so I made a card featuring those balloons again ... they are so easy when you need a quick card

I partially cut the circle and then laid the balloon die over the place I didn't cut - ran it through my BigShot and partially cut that too which gave me a base to adhere another large balloon on top

The balloons were cut from a scrap of CS that I previously had splattered with gold paint so I followed through with some gold splatters on the which BG

My day isn't going to have enough hours in it ... I've some new goodies to play with, a club project to organise and a friend coming ... Not to mention cooking a roast dinner for this evening - at least my baking is started...

Enjoy your day and thanks for looking in

Till soon

It's the most wonderful time....

Hello ...
Sharing another Christmas card with you today ... I guess it was just a matter of time before those clock hands surfaced again ...

Well they perfectly fit the sentiment don't you think

Mixing and matching PTI dies and stamps with a Papermania sentiment stamp

I'm still trying to get used to this camera ... I don't like it as much as my previous one that's for sure

Today would have been my Dad's birthday ... He would have been 89 today ... Time flies

Have a lovely day

Getting into Christmas

Hello ...

I'm making more Christmas cards recently ... I don't know about you but sometimes I find the transition from making Christmas projects back to making birthday projects a little difficult ... so right now I'm in Christmas mode and I thought I link my card up with those lovely ladies at
Jingle Belles Rock
where the theme is the Great Outdoors

Having sponged and stencilled I die cut the bottom half and left it slightly wider than my card to give it that curved effect

Of course I gave no consideration as to how this would go into an envelope Lol! But who cares ... I just like it ...

I'm hoping you can see the glitter on those stars ... It's certainly all over my craft space and just about everything else ... Ginger cat is positively sparkling! And no one goes home from here without taking a little with them... whether they want to or not Lol!

I hope your week is sparkling ...

Hugs

One Word

Hello!

I'm hosting the challenge over at City Crafter this week
My challenge to you is to
use a One Word Sentiment

I made this card for my brother Rick's birthday which was last week

Unfortunately he suffered a heart problem at the weekend and had to be taken to theatre to shock his heart into a normal rhythm... We're all hoping he makes a full recovery

I hope my card at least made him smile ...

Our Guest Designer this week is the talented Karolina ... heres a link to her Blog ... She does some amazing mixed media work ... Hop over and take a look

Once again we are offering a GD spot to this week's winner so I hope you can join in our challenge ...
If you are looking for more inspiration the ladies on our City Crafter team have some lovely projects for you up on the Blog ... Click the link to go and see

Have a wonderful day

Festive

Good morning!

I'm just squeezing in with a card for CAS.ology where the theme is Festive

The team there have joined in with Tracey's 25 Tags of Christmas ... My, there is some wonderful inspiration on her blog ... you ought to hop over and take a look!

So ... I enrolled at the Holiday Card Workshop 2014 and this card is based on one of the samples by the amazing Debby Hughes

The card was splattered with gold paint and for the tag I mixed some ink with water and dipped the tag into it

I added some 'fluffy stuff' for the snow effect and cut a poinsettia from gold patterned vellum

The die cut word 'joy' I cut several times and adhered them together just to give it that raised look ...
I have to confess that this is the only card I made based on the classes ... Time just wasn't on my side last week and now one of my brothers has just had another heart attack so the family dramas continue ... He's doing ok right now and we are hoping that all will be well.

Have a lovely day and I'll be back tomorrow

Till soon
