Looking for Inspiration

Hello

It's been a few days since I posted anything ... DH is having fun in Spain golfing and I am coming down with a cold and feeling a little rough...
I had a big tidy up of my room yesterday and today I couldn't find my inspiration ... maybe it's because I don't feel so good or maybe I tossed it out with the rubbish

I thought I'd try and make a card for the challenge over at The Card Concept
This is the photo inspiration

Well, I stared and stared at that photo and I just kept on coming back to that beautiful coral rose... I love that colour... So eventually that's where I went with this

Roses always say Love to me even though they aren't actual roses on that paper
Excuse the shadowing on my photo ... We've had a lot of rain with bright sunshine in between

I'm going for the Clean and Layered category with this one

I thought I'd enter this at AAA Cards too ...

Does it count as a hole when it has a vellum backing?

I hope you are enjoying your day ...

Thanks for stopping by

City Crafter 259

Hello and good morning friends...

This is the last week of the birthday celebrations at
This week the lovely Stella has made a card to inspire us

You can pick any element of Stella's card to create one of your own and link up at CCCB for a chance to win the prize she is offering here

Here's my take on the challenge

I was inspired by the stars and the circle shape

I used spray mists to cover the front before cutting the circle

The Guest Designer this week is the lovely Lin of heartshugsandflowers blogspot

I am also entering my card for the challenge over at AAA Cards this week

There's definitely a hole in my card!

Thanks so much for your visit

Enjoy your day

Flutter

Hello

There's a new word prompt over at

This week it was my turn to pick the prompt and it's simply Flutter

We have so many butterflies here right now ... they seem to be fluttering everywhere
Mostly they are Peacock butterflies but not all of them

And quite recently I had to cut out 80+ paper ones for the Thursday club project ... Here they are fluttering on acetate stems

The group made exploding boxes as a Mother's Day gift

I thought I'd also share a photo of one of the many squirrels we have in the area ...

This little guy was enjoying the sunshine we've had recently and decided to take a nap ... His fluffy tail was just fluttering in the breeze

Hop on over to Our Beautiful World Blog and see what my fellow team mates have come up with this week ...

Have a beautiful Sunday

April Showers

Hi there!

I've a dinner guest tonight ... Stella's son Martijn is coming over so I've done some baking and before I start the preparations for our meal I've a card to share that I'm linking up with the new challenge at

I spoke too soon in my last post ...  The April showers have arrived Lol! So whilst the JUGS inspiration photo shows beautiful Spring tulips I'm using umbrellas! Well, the die was still on my desk from my previous card and I love that little die

I painted some card stock in various colours before adding some splats and then die cutting the umbrellas -

I tried to include as many colours on my card as in the photo...

...and I think it's kind of cheerful even if it isn't outside

I hope your weekend is off to a good start ...

Wishing you a lovely day

You Brighten My Day

Hi there!

It's been really sunny and warm here when normally we have the traditional April showers ... Ginger cat and I have been able to sit in the garden under the sun umbrella which was my inspiration for the card I have to share for The Card Concept

Such lovely colours here aren't they?
Here's my card in full

I noticed the silver elements in the photo together with those lovely greys, the bright patterned pink and the glimpse of frames... Hence the frame, the silver sequins and word and the little touches of silver added to the umbrella

My problem is what category to enter this in ... Is it CAS or Clean and layered?
It's easy to replicate but it does have a couple of images - I think I'll go for CAS

Wishing you all a lovely day and thanks so much for your visit

Ombre

Hello!

I have a card to share that I made for the challenge over at CAS.ology where the cue card is Ombre

It's a while since I got to play here and as my friend Pat gave me a lovely new Memory Box stencil and I love sponging this is what I came up with

I just love those butterflies ... The inks I used are all by Memento
Morocco, Tangelo and Dandelion

The sentiment is by Precious Remembrance
I used different shades of sequins to tie in with the ombre theme too

I hope you have a great day

Take care

City Crafter 258

Good morning friends!

Today it's my turn to share a card for you to CASE for the 3rd week of the City Crafter Celebration Challenge...
Strictly speaking you don't have to CASE it ... you can pick any of the elements to create a project of your own ... Hop over to the Blog for full details

I decided that my card for City Crafter's birthday had to have a city landscape and some sparkle

So here we are a cityscape shaker card...

The background, stars and the banner were all sponged with inks so maybe you could use sponging or stars? Maybe even a whole bunch of sequins

Our Guest Designer this week is Tammy of Somewhere under the sun blogspot click on the link to go visit her blog ... She is very talented when it comes to card making I tell you

The winner of the challenge will also receive this prize package from me

Head on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the rest of this week's team have in store for you and link up your creations

Have a beautiful day!

Thursday Club Canvas

Hello!
How are you all? I hope you had a good weekend ... My day out yesterday didn't go as planned ... DH decided to do some painting so we only managed to get out for a couple of hours but hey, I'm used to him changing his mind ...
Anyway it gave me time to make a start on my project for my group at Thursday Club ...

A while ago the Uber talented Shari Carroll came up with This amazing creation and I thought it would be perfect to create a similar one for the group ... given that they are mentally and physically challenged, as long as I cut everything ready for them to stick, they can cope and they LOVE taking their creations home ...
So here's a sample of my version that the class will be doing

Cute huh?

I just cut out 198 of those stars ... My Big Shot is exhausted Lol!

On another note - It's so hot outside right now and yet my DH had to scrape ice from his car this morning ... weird weather!

Thanks for looking in ...

Have yourselves a lovely day

Baby Card

Happy Saturday!
I hope it's sunny where you are ... It's sunny here but with a nip in the air...

My DH's grandson is a month old already ... I've only got to see him once but I guess he's grown a lot ...Here's the card I made when he was born

Kinda hard to photograph with that acetate which I used to make 2 cloud shaker windows

I used 2 different stamps for the sentiment ... I had the "Welcome" stamp from WaltzingMouse and the"joy to the world" from a Clearly Besotted Christmas stamp ... I just omitted the word Joy

I have Pat coming this afternoon to do some crafting so I've just made a dozen fruit buns and I have bread ready to go in the oven for dinner tonight's dinner, we're having spaghetti bolognese...

Have yourselves a lovely day

Till soon

Wednesday Blues

Hello

Well I had the most wonderful time with Stella ... We took them to as many places as we could during their stay ... Here we are at Bunbury where we lunched in one of our favourite country pubs

Yesterday we said a sad farewell ... Her son was quite upset as he still has another 2 months work here but he feels like my son too now and will spend more time with us
So it's the Wednesday blues today....

I have a card to share that I made last week using that little Ellie stamp

If it hadn't been for the sequins I could probably entered this at Colour Q this week ... Never mind

I made this with Sophia in mind ... her birthday isn't for a few months but better to get ahead huh?

On a positive note I discovered that my card from a previous post here was a winner at
The Card Concept this week ... Yahoo!
That kind of cheered me up!

I hope your week is going well ... Thanks so much for stopping by

It's a Shaker (City Crafter 257)

Hello everyone

Today is the second week of Birthday celebrations at City Crafter
This week Kirsty has created a card for us to CASE or to use as inspiration
(You can pick any element of Kirsty's card ... the sketch, the colours etc., and create your version to enter the challenge and be eligible to win her prize)

This is Kirsty's card

...and here is the prize she is offering to the winner

I used the same frame die to make a 3D shaker card

I used paints and sprays to cover my CS first and encased the butterfly and word inside the shaker

It's pretty hard to show that in photos

Our GD this week is the very talented Goga - Winner of week 248 - here's a link to her blog

Be sure to visit City Crafter and check out all the creations by the team

I would also like to enter my card at the JUGS challenge this week where the trend is
Shaker Cards and the DT have some terrific examples

Wishing you all a wonderful day
