Bird

Hello!

Bird is the word this week over at

Chosen for us by the lovely Kirsty

I just love photographing birds so this was an easy one for me, the only problem was deciding which ones to use...

On a visit to Port d'Andratx last year I spotted this little guy... It's a beautiful fishing port so I guess they find plenty of scraps whilst keeping their tiny feet cool

Looks like he spotted something...

Not sure what it is but he seems pleased

Last spring we had some birds nesting in our garden which was delightful, seeing as we have cats, so I thought it was worth sharing these photos again

Mama Robin - or maybe Papa

A blackbird with food for the babies

And a blue tit checking out this house

Share your Bird photos with us at

this week and go visit the Blog to see what my friends are sharing ...

And before I go I want to just say Happy Birthday to Wen! If I got my dates right Wen celebrates her birthday today ... hop on over and leave her some love!

Have a beautiful Sunday!

Thinking of you

Hello ...

Just have a card to share for all my friends living on the East Coast of the USA to say I am thinking of you

One of my dearest friends lives in New Jersey ... We have been friends since I was 4 years old and I miss her a lot ... She posted photos of the weather there and being a nurse, staying home from work is not an option

I used the negative of my skyline die as a stencil to sponge some distress ink and coloured the trees using my Copic Ciaos... As you all know, I am a newbie when it comes to Copics, and to colouring for that matter... I gather that certain inks are not advisable for your stamped image but as my 'go to' ink is always Versafine (not recommended) I always cover it in clear E/B and heat it which eliminates any problem and I like the shiny look it gives to the outline image

I hope your weather is improving and  you all stay safe

Oops! I almost forgot to say that I am also posting this card to support my teamies over at Double D challenges where the theme is "Brrr"... A Winter Time Theme

Love Is In The Air

Good morning!
I hope you are enjoying your week ...

The Monday Challenge over at SimonSays Stamp is Love is in the air - Use red

My love affair with little animals continues -
Using a little guy from the Memory Box Gnome for Christmas stamps and dies, here's what I made

Uhuh, A polar bear this time...sending love to his sweetheart using balloons ... I mean how else is he going to send it?
The little red hearts were punched out and smothered in glossy accents

I used balloon dies by Lil'Inkers and the sentiment - MFT's Label Makers - is stamped, embossed and handcut...
To add a little interest I used a Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border die on the card edge

I am also entering this at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge Love Letters

Got the hearts and got the word...

There's a nasty virus hanging around in my home right now ... DH has taken to his bed and I'm hoping I don't catch it...I must admit, it's pretty peaceful round here though hee hee...
Have a beautiful day

City Crafter 296

Hello there ...

Today at City Crafter we have the lovely Stella hosting our challenge and she's picked a wonderful theme ...

For The Love of Pets

Stella is asking that we create a card or project that features a pet... cat, dog, bird etc.,
Seeing that sweet puppy's face I had to use a pup on my card ... I may have cats but I adore dogs!

This is one scruffy puppy... I used a white gel pen to create that look - doesn't he look kinda cute?
I made this for me ... On a day I was feeling a little low - Nothing wrong in sending yourself a hug, especially with a cute puppy

Now see that weird background? Well it was a left over from card I had previously painted and cut out 2 skyline's from and I just like the shape that remained Lol!

Our Guest Designer this week is Dana one half of The Crafty Couple - click the link to go visit the blog.

As always our team have lots more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog hop on over and take a peek.

Wishing you a wonderful day

Make My Monday and Thanks

Good Afternoon

First of all I would like to thank the team at AAA Cards for picking This card as 1st place!! I'm absolutely thrilled!

I noticed that the challenge at Make My Monday this week is to use your newest or most favourite stamps...
Well, look what just arrived

I know that they're Christmas stamps, but they were in the sale so I ordered them, a while ago as it happens, but they only came today and I just had to try them out...

...I mean you don't have to use them just for Christmas do you?

I did a little water colour and some splattering just to add a little interest

I never did 'cute' at one time... looks like I am becoming obsessed by little animals and even gnomes now Lol!

I hope you are having a good day - My thoughts go out to all of you affected by the storms and the bad weather - Please take care

Bright

Good morning...

Wen has chosen this week's prompt for us at

The word is Bright

Well this Orchid is bright don't you think?

It was sitting on a table in the reception area of a hotel we stayed in last summer and here's a photo of the sunset there

Pretty bright too....But in summer the sunset at Land's End in the UK is just as bright and beautiful

Though it's winter here and cold, we haven't really had any snow to speak of ... It was bright sunshine first thing yesterday - the sun was shining through the windows

...Reflecting the glitter on some of the artificial flowers

The ivy was enjoying having some sun too

Hop on over to Our Beautiful World Blog to see what my friends are sharing and if you have photos that fit our prompt please share with us

Enjoy your day

Create With Critters

Hello!

So the Wednesday challenge at SimonSays Stamp is to create with critters... Well, I made this card a week or so ago and though I didn't use the featured Lawn Fawn products, it does include a cat

I was trying out my new copics to colour the kitty and using up some spare die cuts

He's like my ginger cat... Sleeps most of the time

He does like to play but throw him a piece of string and he forgets to let go!

I hope you are enjoying your day... Blogger is still playing up for us Safari users so I'm sticking to Firefox for now

Till soon

Best Friends

Hello and good morning

I've always had cats and I also owned a couple of German Shepherds which I absolutely adore!
Now I no longer have my beautiful dogs or the cats from those days... Though as you know we still have a few rescue cats, but I miss my dogs soooo much
My dogs always got on well with the cats ... Cat's rule!

This is an old photo of my dog Holly with my cat Lisa

Why am I telling you all this? Well, because it is the basis of today's card...
When I saw that Try It On Tuesday's challenge is silhouettes -
It gave me the idea

You know I love using silhouettes, they feature on many of my cards and here's what I came up with

I cut the silhouettes out on the Cameo and did a little sponging

Amazingly (for me) this turned out a one layered card with a little stamping and some punched out hearts

I really hope that one day I will be reunited with my pets ...

Wishing you a lovely day - free from blogger problems at least!

City Crafter 295

Well hello!

It's my turn to host the challenge at City Crafter this week and I have chosen a photo inspiration challenge for us

Create a card or project taking inspiration from this photo and tell us what inspired you
It could be the colours, teapot, snowdrops or even the numbers...

Based on the colours, here's what I came up with .. This card was sent to a dear blog friend who recently got a new job

I love shades of grey and the pattern on the teapot made me think of this digital paper I have from Pink Petticoat...

I got in the green and the shade of those Palmier biscuits translated into those sweet little birds

Our Guest designer this week is the lovely Dora Dora was our winner in week 289 - Do go visit her blog she makes beautiful cards and don't forget to visit the City Crafter blog too ... We have lots more inspiration for you there and we are looking forward to seeing what you come up with ...

Have a wonderful Day!

Blue

Hello...

Our lovely Mandy has picked the prompt for this week at

The word is Blue

I took these photos on Friday ... Blue skies overhead...

...But don't be fooled- It's really cold!

The garden swings waits forlorn...

Along with the cold and wet garden table, hoping for warmer weather ...

This is my kind of blue

...The kind that comes with hot weather, strolling along the harbours where fishing nets are brightly coloured and the pace is slow

Hop on over to the Blog to see what my friends are sharing this week and why not link up with us too?

Enjoy your day

Butterflies

Hello and Good Afternoon...

Having just celebrated my birthday, I'm in need of a few "Thank You" cards...City Crafter's challenge this week is to use a butterfly which I did on my DT project and I thought why not use butterflies for my Thank You cards?

... I used digital stamps which I bought from hero Arts many years ago and used my new Copics to colour them

The 'Thanks' die is by Lil'Inkers and you can't really see from the photos but I added a Wink of Stella to each butterfly and IRL they do sparkle...
It's pouring with rain again here - I can't wait until Spring when the butterflies return to the garden, I hope it's not too long...

Wishing you a wonderful day

Till soon
