Hello there...

I didn't get to share some of my cards before Christmas and the new year is beckoning so here's a little look at a collection of my last holiday cards

My love of trees will never wane...

I do hope you are having a good day and staying warm

Hellooooo!

Yay! I'm finally back online!

After 12 long days that seemed like an eternity, the connection came on late this afternoon.
Not being able to visit friends and family over the Christmas period, do any online ordering etc., has been very upsetting, not to mention the days spent on the phone trying to get someone somewhere to get their finger out and fix things.
You'd think not being online would have given me time to create, but in truth I lost all interest and inspiration...
Before I went offline I did enter a card in a challenge, not expecting I would win anything, so imagine my delight to see my card was one of the cards picked for an actual prize!! I was so happy, that was until I saw I had to claim it within 5 days... Well, that was that.

All in all it's been an experience that I could have done without... My son was ill all over Christmas too and for the first time since he was born, we didn't have Christmas dinner together.

Roll on 2017!
Now I am back I will be visiting you all first thing tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you who sent me messages to let me know you were thinking of me, it really meant a lot.

Have a great day/evening

MIA

Hello friends...
Unfortunately I have been without an  Internet connection since last Saturday and I have no idea when it will be back.
So sorry that I haven't been able to visit you all... I miss you.
I'm trying to do this note via my phone and I  can at least get emails on my phone.
Wishing you a wonderful day and hoping to be back with you soon
Hugs

Quick Card Set

Hi there ...

I don't know about you but I'm exhausted... I seem to have made so many cards lately, my eyes ache!

One of the things my Aunt asked me for this Christmas is a set of 'any occasion cards'. I often make a set for her and send them with a book of stamps... It's difficult for her to get out to buy a card and so expensive, so she really appreciates me making them.

It's been hard to switch from Christmas cards, despite the fact that I've had 4 male birthday cards to make this past week too and in the end I opted for paint and embossing for this set. They came together quickly...

If in doubt, get the paint out Lol!

Now all that's left to do is to make a box for them...

I'm linking these up to This month's CAS Watercolour Challenge

Have a great day

Blue Christmas

Good morning!

Like the rest of you I've been making more and more Christmas cards and it's turning into a blue Christmas... Oh no, I'm fine, I mean I've been using a lot of blue ink... Distress ink that is.
I just love making snowy hill backgrounds and today I thought I share two of the many cards I've made  ...One I made for DH and the one I made for Mikey

This is for DH

He can be a bit of a "Bah Humbug" when it comes to Christmas... A bear with a sore head at times, so this card was thought out

He just needs some Christmas sparkle like my polar bear I think Lol!

And for my son Mikey... Well, the cats had to be on there... He adores them

This is just how my cats are ... Missy the black cat is so inquisitive, always looking up to the birds flying by and Ginger boy sits behind just like that keeping an eye on her...

I am going to link these up to Kylie's 12 Days Of Christmas Card Challenge

There's still time to enter yours

Can I just say, Many Thanks to all of my lovely blog friends for your gorgeous handcrafted Christmas cards received these past week ... I love them!

Have a great day!

Good morning! I hope your week is off to a good start

This week will be City Crafter's  last challenge for 2016

Marina is hosting and the challenge is to make a project that includes
" Christmas things that fly or float"

So here is what I came up with

Yes, I'm still playing with that HA stamp and this time I've added another stamp on top... I stamped and embossed the flying Santa sleigh and reindeer over the HA image

It fits perfectly doncha think?

If you'd like to see what the rest of the team have to inspire you this week, hop on over to the City Crafter Blog and take a look.

On behalf of City Crafter, we wish you a very Happy Christmas and a big thank you for your support
Our next challenge will be in January 2017

A few more cards

Hello there ...

Are you still frantically making cards? I've a few more to make but this year I am much more ahead than I usually am ... Even got most of my gifts and they are ready to wrap

I've a couple more cards to share

A little bit of ink blending for this one

And this next one uses up some of those painted pieces I have laying around

The front of this one is a Simon Says Die - Got one for Pat for Christmas too (Shh) and the trees are by Impression Obsession... Love the shape of them

Oh and before I go I just want to say "Thank you"  to the lovely team at Inkspirational for awarding me a top pick for another of my painted tree cards... Whoo Hoo!

Have a great day and take care

Quick cards

Good morning...
I hope the week is going well for you

Yesterday I shared a card for my DT project at Double D Challenges using a Hero Arts stamp and Hero Arts Ombre ink... I usually make my cards well in advance and I hadn't used that stamp since making that card so I decided to pull it out again and make a bunch of Christmas cards which came together really quickly

Using the Misti I was able to stamp the sentiments one after the other and I'd already die cut a lot of those stags

The image stamp is a wooden stamp so I couldn't use the Misti for that but it's a great stamp to work with. My only problem was the Lil'Inkers border die ... I love those dies but somehow I managed to break the one I was using... I probably caught in in the Big Shot but it's ok , it only broke about an inch off it.

I'd made a bunch of cards before Pat arrived and then of course she also made a bunch of them Lol!

My home is now ready for Christmas ... I know, I even surprised myself having it done so early in the month. Unlike most of you, I hate decorating the tree... I have a couple of small artificial trees that are no problem - they have built in lights and snowy branches and need nothing else but Hubby decided to get a real tree as well. So I stood and put on all the baubles and bows, tinsel and lights and I hated it! It just didn't look right ... I get worse as I get older I know, but it is such a pretty tree and in my opinion didn't need all the glamour, so I took everything off, bar the lights and now it looks beautiful... Just as God intended it to look and hubby loves it too.

Have a wonderful day
I'm off to catch up with an old friend who celebrates her birthday today

Till soon

Double D Challenge

Hello again...
I'm back today with my project for the new challenge at

It's the turn of Diane's team to host and our challenge is

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Diane has come up with a gorgeous tile board to inspire you

Here's my card

I used a lovely Hero Arts Stamp for this and added a frame, again cut on my cameo

I also used an Ombre ink pad - I discovered that this stamp works best with bold coloured ink to get the full effect of the image. The snowflake was die cut and smothered in glitter

Both our teams have created cards to inspire you and they are all beautiful ... Go take a peek here
We'd love to see what you come up with too

Enjoy your day

City Crafter 341

Good morning!

It's time for a new challenge over at City Crafter and this week it's Stella hosting for us
The theme - The Tree Is Up
The challenge  - Create a project that features a Christmas Tree

My Christmas tree is up but so far it's naked ... I've not been too well so things are a little behind, and maybe my card reflects that

See, they are Christmas trees but undecorated, except for the snow of course
It's just a little painting I did with stamped trees

...And I added a Cameo cut die of the birds on a wire

Hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the team have to inspire you this week and link up your Christmas tree projects ... Decorated or not Lol!

Have a great day

Our beautiful World

This week's prompt at Our Beautiful World is
Peaceful
Picked for us by Kirsty

We've had some beautiful sunsets this week and they reflect Peacefulness to me

In a world that is anything but peaceful and a season that should be peaceful but has everyone running around like ants... It pays to take the time to just look up to the sky

See the stillness in the trees and feel the calmness in the air... Just breathe and remember that we are a tiny part of a vast universe..
Whether it be a sunset or a frosty morning

It needs no words... Only silence and peace

A moment off the treadmill of life we are all on

Share your Peaceful photos with us this week at

And take a moment to visit the blog to see what the rest of the team is sharing

Wishing you all a peaceful day

Trees

Hello...

Happy December!

I've been trying to draw trees - So far, adding branches so they look natural is not as easy as it look, well not to me.
I seem to be obsessed with trees and I guess that's true ... I've always loved trees and swore I'd never live in a place that didn't have trees around. But enough of that ...
Here's what I have to share today

I sketched some birch tree trunks (No branches Lol) and watercoloured them
I thought it would be fun to add that little deer as though he were peeking through the tree trunks, simply done by cutting it and placing pieces either side of the tree - I didn't glue the head down though because I wanted a raised look

Unfortunately, what you can't see is how sparkly this is when the light catches it as I've added tiny bits of glitter to the painted BG as well as the glittery leaves. The weather has just not been cooperative for photographs.

This will be going in a frame as I know a little girl who will love this.. She loves anything that sparkles, well who doesn't?

I've been thrilled at the response to my efforts and would like to thank...

CAS Watercolor - For an Outstanding Design Award

Try It On Tuesday - For a Top 5 Award

And of course to you lovely people who take the time to leave me encouraging comments
